Hello new readers and followers. My name is Andrea, and I was born in Guatemala City, Guatemala. When I was four years old my family moved to a new country, but I can still remember my time there. We grew up on the wealthier side of Guatemala. Yet I remember being able to play with a less wealthy Mayan girl. I loved playing with her! We would pretend to have tea parties together with toy tea cups and banana leaves. She was amazing! I wish I had a picture of her. She would come in to our backyard. We would give her baths, toys, my clothes, and food because she was homeless. This picture is of me on December 1989. I was about seven months old and we took these Mayan inspired pictures at a studio.
The film Living on A Dollar means a lot to me! My husband and I loved watching it together. Go watch it on Netflix, or enter this contest to win a free Signed copy with a personal note by the director Chris Temple! Gracias Chris for being so kind and collaborating with me. Maybe someday we can all go to Guatemala together with our families!
Please donate any amount you can to, livingonone.org
All donations go towards Pena Blanca's personal education growth, or helping others micro-finance something that will greatly help their lives. It has been a dream of mine to work in humanitarian aid, and I thank you Chris and Living on A Dollar campaign for giving me that opportunity! Xoxo Andrea

I really enjoyed this film! It was enlightening to see that one can live on only a dollar a day, and that some people actually DO love in that small amount. I have already started taking a few steps to being more frugal with our family's finances. Thank you! -Leslie McOmber
